I read recently that “data is the new oil.” Which, from a corporate-speak pithiness perspective, is sound bytable enough. But it’s inaccurate: oil is a finite resource that gets used up and will diminish over time. Data, on the other hand, just keeps accumulating and getting ever more valuable. Last month we talked a lot about customer success and how to achieve it (and since it is our company focus, Kevin Turner and Kelly Barner continued the conversation in this month’s OutLoud podcast). Turning raw data into insights and intelligence is one of the best to make a range of successful outcomes happen. In our webinar with PayStream Advisors, integrated data appeared consistently in the topline results of their 2018 contract lifecycle management (CLM) survey. Contracts are just static documents unless you can create value out of them, and that means data visibility, access and analytics.

But integrated data is just as critical whatever area of an enterprise you’re in, or what solution(s) you use. Alexia Antuzzi, Marketing Manager in Determine’s Aix-en-Provence office, shows how artificial intelligence – in this case, predictive analytics – can turn procurement data into real intelligence to make better business decisions. Something which is really only achievable when solutions, workflow and people are interconnected on a cloud platform.

As Spend Matters reveals in their latest SolutionMap rankings, the Determine Cloud Platform is firing on all cylinders. The company is not only in six categories, with a sweep of procurement, it continues to move up the charts. Since that has a whole lot to do with positive feedback from customers, it’s the perfect illustration of how we owe our success to helping achieve theirs. Doesn’t take data intelligence to see the value in that.
