The podcast series that’s all about minding your business in contract management and source to pay.
In this episode of our podcast, I had an opportunity to speak with Patrick Stakenas, President and CEO of Determine, about lessons learned over the past year and what’s happening at the intersection of the company and the industry as a whole.
We discussed the confluence of SaaS and suite modularity, with a focus around meeting current market demands and the wider movement to go beyond just “spend management.”
As a veteran of the software industry, Patrick noted that when ERP hit the streets in the ‘90’s, it opened up new possibilities by combining and linking disparate software systems. Salesforce took the next logical step a decade later by putting all the pieces together on one platform in the cloud — revolutionizing the way people think about enterprise software. Now, procurement is just catching on to all the advantages – and necessities – by following suit. Achieving savings is just the start – but it’s no longer enough.
Looking at other technology leaders, like Apple, Google and Salesforce, one thing is clear: bringing together the complexities of the entire Source-to-Pay and Contract Management continuum in a modular way, with unified shared data and business processes, can only be made possible through a platform.
Last week Determine introduced the concept of achieving Platformance. Now we hear about it in Patrick’s own words, and what it really means for our customers and the future of the industry.
Thanks for listening in.
