In this first episode, Kelly Barner, procurement industry expert, author and Managing Director of Buyers Meeting Point and I share some thoughts around an increasingly common – but misunderstood – procurement industry term: platform.

Turns out, few practitioners know what it really means, and there is no universal definition. Companies and industry analysts aren’t helping, either. There is a lot of interchangeability in how terms are used. To get beyond the buzzword, a key idea to consider is “intent to grow.” Not just company size, but evolving how things like spend is addressed, how influence is achieved.
